Acle Top Ten
In the County Top Ten League Acle Men played Pinewood and a win of 5–2 pts is almost certain to give them the Title. In the pairs Captain Mick Harvey with David Cole had a comfortable win 30–14 which included two 4’s and a 6. In the triples Ron Taylor, Alan Casburn and Bill Downie went from 13–5 up to 13–12 then won the final 3 ends to finish 20–12. Jeff Watson’s rink lost 13 – 22 in the fours and Brian Kirby found Ray Cutting on form losing in the singles.
It is still mathematically possible for Pinewood to win the title but unlikely and the champagne is being kept on ice till next weekend.
