PLEASE READ if new to the Members Area
To use the members Area you must first Log In with your membership number and Password.
You can get this information from the Stewards desk. Once logged in for the first time you should go to the ‘My Account’ section and change your password to your own preferred one for security reasons.
In the Members Area you can view all the internal league fixtures, results and tables. Also the Competition draws and results.
You can also see the Rink Availability for any date and book any spare rinks for roll ups, Competitions etc.
If booking for a competition, you may make up to 3 ‘PROVISIONAL’ bookings. You must the confirm within 72 hours which of the 3 dates you want to keep. Once confirmed the other dates will be automatically deleted and made available to other members. If no confirmation is received by the system within the 72 hours then all the dates will be cancelled and made available to other members. You will be sent an email confirming this action.
Only the member that makes a booking, can then delete it (with the exception of the management)

1 Bandana League – was launched last Wednesday Evening and we have 4 league entries and if you would like to follow the action the team names and colours are as follows and Denis would like it to be known the captains picked their team names !!!!
Team 1 – It’s getting Messi – Black
Team 2 – Red Relics – Red
Team 3 – RealSoSo Bad – Blue
Team 4 – Arselona – Pink
150 hits recorded on the webcams on the first night
2 Norfolk Men’s County- Roger, Rob and Tim won the County Triples Final, Tim won the 2County Singles and Peter and Tim signed off with the County Pairsits beginning to look like the old times .
3 Outdoor -watch out for a change in the weather as the outdoor matches start to kick off .
4 Respirator Training – do not lie down anywhere in the club as the Stewards are undergoing resuscitation training this week and are looking for patients to practise on.
5 Winter leagues – Final warning to captains to get their league entries in for next season as Lilian will not have time to remind you and we have a number on the reserve list.
No other Proposals will be considered or voted on ,on the day, but there will be the traditionalOpen Forum after the AGM .
6 Lincoln Federation Finals – we had 12 Acle members representing Norfolk but no silverware came home.
7 AGM – will take place in the club lounge at 10-00am on Sunday 4th May -Proposals to be voted on are on the Main Board as you enter the club.

1. Lincoln – Good luck to all our members who will be playing at the Federation National Finals at Lincoln from 22nd April .
2. Summer Wednesday – details of the teams and format of the new Wednesday Evening League in the Summer are on the main noticeboard. First meeting is on Weds 23rd April at 6-30pm -any problems or queries see Tim.
3. EIBA Nationals – congrats to our ladies who qualified for nationals but it proved a step too far this year.
4. Mens County Finals – Acle players will contest all the Finals ( return to the old days) except the fours and are already guaranteed one winners Pennant in the Singles as an all Acle Final between Tim and Aaron. Finals take place at County Arts on the weekend of the 26th and 27th April -go along and support Acle.
5. Social Club – All indoor bowls club members are automatically members of the Acle Social Club and your membership cards are ready for collection at the Stewards Desk. You need to present this card every time you buy drinks or food in the bar to receive your discount prices.
The AGM of the Social Club takes place on Tuesday 15th April at 7-00pm in the Bure room -please go along and support Jo, Charlie and Dave your reps on the Committee ,which has done a fantastic job this year.
6. Ladies Aussie league – we hope to continue with the Ladies Aussie league on Fridays ,even with so few entries ,and hope to run this alongside another Novice league next season, so make sure you enter or lose it.
7. AGM – please put forward your nominations for Officer positions and of course any proposals for consideration at the AGM must have a proposer and seconder (signatures we can read). Also happy to receive any notes or ideas for the Committee to consider for next season. Proposals close on Easter Monday.
8. Novice league -will continue next season and entries can be made early next season -watch the noticeboard for more info.
9. Nationals -congrats to all the Acle ladies who played for Norfolk on Sat to defeat Dorset in the Final of the Atherley trophy and become National Champions.

That Lilian Barber be made Hon Life member of the Club – carried unanimously and Lilian was presented with a bouquet. Brian Kirby was also presented with the Service Award in recognition of all the work he does for the club.
There will be no visiting the head in the domestic leagues and if he/ she does,, then, he/she loses the right to bowl any more woods that end. -Carried
Starting times changed to start at 10-00am – NOT carried.
Village league will in future be 2 bowls and 21 ends – Carried
An experiment will be carried out in the Monday Morning Men’s league only , that ladies may be used as Subs rather than a match being cancelled – Carried.

7th April 2025
1. National Entries 2025/26 – the national entry portal is now open on the EIBA website so get your entries sorted. A copy of the National Rules are displayed on the noticeboard at end of rink 2, plus an entry form for you to copy if required.
2. May 4th -is not only our AGM day but the World Naked Gardening Day and as Denis is so Woke nowadays he will say nothing ,other than he has persuaded Chris not to take part!!!!!!!( a little part)
3. AGM -the club AGM will take place at 10-00am in the club lounge -proposals from the Committee and Nomination Forms are on display.
4. Nationals report – Aaron reached the quarter finals as did Brian, Dave, Rocky and Roger and of course Rocky again with the Elliott boys in the triples-great to see Acle Marsh Harriers on display at the Nationals -Ladies next to swoop for a title.
5. November Weekend – requests for £50 deposits pp now in the letter-rack.
6. Good Friday Tournament – has been cancelled
7. Club Finals – great day on Sunday with very close games -big WELL DONE to Barney for organising the day ,and of course the comps throughout the season ,and thanks to all the players for getting their matches played on time -it all helps the smooth running of the club and comps.
8. Web -on Sunday 526 hits were recorded on the webcams the second highest of the season with the 544 during the Junior Tournament being the largest number of hits.
9. League Winners – if league winner captains would like to see Lilian or Simon, they can collect their winnings ,or donate of course to the club charities. Ask Simon for your trophy for a photo shoot for the website.

1. Boiler – the work on replacing the boiler will start on Mon 19th May so ladies best you move any gear into the Brian Grint room for a time.
2. Lucas and Wyllys ,our Sponsor, now have a Court of Protection Department and Millicent Jermy from L & W will attend at the club on Thursday 15th May from 10am to give free advice on ‘Deputyship’.
What is Deputyship and how can L & W help?
‘If someone has lost capacity ,but did not donate a Lasting Power of Attorney, L&W can help. L & W can make an application to the Court to obtain an Order to deal with their Property and affairs and/or Personal Welfare.
An additional application can be made to the Court for a Statutory Will which will allow the Deputy to draft a Will in accordance with the persons wishes and not The Rules of Intestacy.
A Deputyship can be applied for in many different circumstances including brain damage, Dementia ,learning difficulties etc.
L & W can help you become a Deputy for someone, or they can act as a Sole, or Joint Deputy.

1 Easter – belated Easter greetings to you all
2 Summer Season – so goodbye winter league welcome to the 2025 Summer league
3 Mon, Weds, Fri mornings we have the normal triples leagues
4 SUMMER LEAGUE WITHDRAWAL -A TEAM HAS WITHDRAWN FROM THE WEDNEDAY MORNING LEAGUE SO IF INTERESTED IN REPLACING SAME SEE SIMON OR LILIAN.THE LEAGUE IS OPEN,CAN BE ALL MALE ,ALL FEMALE OR MIXED.
Drives will be the usual Tuesdays at 4-30 but the Thursday Drives go to Thursday mornings - report to the desk for 10-00am
Wednesday Evening – ‘Welcome to Tim’s World’- this league known as the ‘Bandana league’ (teams wear different coloured bandanas somewhere on their person) starts on Weds 23rdApril at 6-30 and is played every 2 weeks. Should be worth a look on the web.
5 Sunday Mornings -should be an odd rink available for roll ups.
6 Winter league 2025/26 -best you captains get your league entries in as Lil unlikely to have the time to remind you and we have a reserve list on a number of the leagues.
7 Men’s County Finals – start10-30am On Sat and Sunday mornings at County Arts this coming weekend (26thand 27th) Go along and cheer on the Acle boys who are featured in most of the Finals.
8 Lincoln -National Federation Finals start at Lincoln from Tuesday 22ndApril -good luck to all the Acle players who will be representing Norfolk in most of the disciplines.
9 Club AGM – all club officer posts have received a nomination and only the club committee proposals have been posted . No proposals are accepted on the day of the AGM as per the Constitution but there is always an opportunity after the closure of the AGM business to raise matters for the Committee to perhaps consider.
